Mets’ Knuckleballer Dickey gets 20th win!

Mets’ knuckleball specialist (Cy Young candidate) R.A. Dickey notched his 20th win of the season at Citi-Field last night! He stuck with the struggling Mets through thick and thin, as they dived to the bottom in the second half of the (this) season! Dickey also became the first Mets pitcher to get 20 wins in a season since Frank Viola went 20-12 in 1990!

R.A. Dickey (20-6) struck out 13 batters (tied career-high), and gave up eight hits and three runs in 7 2/3 innings pitched, last night! The Mets padded a 6-3 lead (over the Pittsburgh Pirates) behind 3B David Wright‘s three run blast to cap off the four run fifth inning! The Mets held on to a 6-5 victory, and Dickey finally got his 20th win!!!
