Giants rally on the Bucs, Jets drop to the Steel Curtain!

The NY Giants rallied back to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the NY Jets dropped to the Pittsburgh Steelers, yesterday! Giants’ QB Eli (Manning) threw for a career-high 510 passing yards, while Jets’ QB Mark Sanchez got handled by the Steel Curtain (Steelers Defense)!

East Rutherford, NJ: The NY Giants beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 41-34 yesterday! The Giants mounted a huge 25-point fourth quarter comeback to beat the Bucs! Eli Manning threw for a career-high 510 passing yards, and the Giants as a team mounted 605 total yards of offense; second most in Giants franchise history (1950 – 609 yards)! Giants’ WR Victor Cruz had a break-out performance (11 catches – 179 yards) highlighted by a 80-yard TD catch [Video below] followed by his signature salsa dance! With the 80-yard TD catch, Cruz honored his grandma who passed last week! Giants’ WR Hakeem Nicks came up huge late and caught 10 catches for 199 yards and one TD! Giants’ WR Martellus Bennett also came through with a huge 33-yard tough arm TD catch to put the Giants ahead 34-27 temporarily in the fourth quarter! While the Giants’ #1 RB Ahmad Bradshaw went out with injury early in the game, emerging RB Andre Brown covered his slack and ran for 71 yards on 13 attempts including a TD, and caught two passes for 19 yards! At the end of the game, Giants’ coach (Tom) Coughlin got in the Bucs’ coaches face [Video] for trying to blitz hard on the last play of the game (a dead play)!

Pittsburgh, PA: The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the NY Jets, 27-10 yesterday! Jets QB Mark Sanchez was awful, and the Steelers D(efense) clamped down more and more as the game continued! The Steel Curtain dropped on the Jets, and now they must regroup and look forward to next week!
