Yankees stomp Orioles, stay atop AL East!

“Since we lost two of the first three, a split was huge,’’ said Derek Jeter, who supplied two hits, including a two-run homer, and three RBIs. “Today was a big one.’’

“We are still in first place,’’ CC Sabathia said. “That’s the biggest thing. We have to keep on going.’’ – nypost

Baltimore, MD: The NY Yankees stomped the Baltimore Orioles, 13-3 yesterday, and now narrowly hold onto a one-game lead over (the Orioles) in the AL East! Derek Jeter went on blast and got two hits, a two-run HR and three RBI’s! Curtis Granderson had quite a day, and went 3-3 with a HR (35) and five RBI’s for the Yankees! The Yankees split the series with Baltimore, and still have work to do with only 22 games left in the season. The Tampa Bay Rays are only two games behind the Yankees in the AL East.
