Will.I.Am To Premiere ‘Reach for the Stars’ On Mars
Will.I.Am is gearing up to premiere his new single Reach For The Stars on Mars today at 4pm ET, live on NASA TV.
Back in June, it was reported that the Black Eyed Peas star had penned a song for NASA, telling Graham Norton: “There is a rocket going to Mars, it lands in August and when in lands it will send back a signal to earth and that signal will be the song.”
He explained: “This project with NASA is to help inspire kids to get involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. My mission is to inspire the youth to care about education.”
Now, The Sun reports that Will’s track will be played through the speakers of the Curiosity Robot Rover, which landed on Mars earlier this month.
Will posted on Twitter: “#blessed I will be apart of first song ever to be sent from another planet…mars to earth tomorrow.”
“Reach for the Stars,” a cosmic tribute from the Black Eyed Peas leader, will premiere at a special event tomorrow for students at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
