Lupe Fiasco Breaks Down on MTV’s Rap Fix (Video)

Yesterday on MTV’s RapFix, Sway took Lupe Fiasco down memory lane, showing him his 2006 feature on MTV2 My Block: Chicago. During the 3 minute segment, Lupe admits he’s not satisfied with the conditions of his poverty-stricken neighborhood. While watching the footage Lupe broke down in tears.

“It’s some of them dudes is dead. Chicago’s the murder capital. The dudes in that video are in prison, a couple of fed cases, and then there’s ghosts. You see people that, that ain’t there. I don’t know, b. You just trying to make it better and come up out of it. That building is still there. Nothing’s changed. Some of those kids aren’t going to make it out of there. You feel so helpless. That’s me talking to me six years ago, and stuff is still the same. You feel hopeless. It’s a terrible thing and I see it everywhere…It hurts a lot to speak to ghosts.”
