@SportsBata ..nuff said

There are many athletes representing NY, including the five boroughs, NJ, and Connecticut in the upcoming #2012LondonOlympics! The #Olympics #officially begin on Friday, June 27 12PM! From fencing to young swimming talent like Cullen Jones and Lia Neal to big names like #Melo and #DWill! #NY got it all! #NY athletes representing at the #London2012Olympics!

#TeamUSA basketball squad got Knicks’ #Melo, #Chandler, and Nets’ D-Will representing #NY! #TeamUSA already won four to five scrimmages, the closest match was against #Argentina (86-80)! #Melo was actually born in #Brooklyn, and lived there for the early part of his childhood. #Chandler was raised in Cali, and #DWill came out of Texas.

Don’t forget about the ladies! We got three former Lady U-Conn Huskies going to the #Olympics: Sue Bird, Tina Charles, and Asjha Jones! Sue Bird, 31, is the elder and one of only seven women to win an Olympic Gold Medal, an NCAA Championship, and a WNBA Championship. Tina Charles starred at Christ the King in #Queens and led U-Conn to two undefeated Championships. Ajsha Jones is out of Piscataway #Jersey and currently teammates with Charles on the Connecticut Sun. #TeamUSAWomen are looking for their seventh Gold Medal in eight #Olympics appearances! Lady Ballers #TeamUSA all day!

Marcus Browne is a 6-foot-2 southpaw boxer out of #StatenIsland! He will be competing in the light heavyweight bracket on Saturday June 28. Browne, 21, won the #Olympics Trials in August, but didn’t even finish in the top 10 at the World Championships! Normally, he would cut from the #Olympic competition, but a new ‘controversial’ US format allows boxers who lose at the World Championships to “reload” to re-qualify for their spot in another round of box-off tournaments. He won his spot back, and will be going for the Gold!

Cullen Jones was born in the #Bronx, raised in (Irvington) #Jersey, and is one of the fastest sprinters in the US! He will be competing in the 50-meter and 100-meter races, and going for the gold! He will also teammate swimming sensation Michael Phelps in the 4×100 relays! Jones already has a gold medal and world record as part of the 4×100 relay team in the #2008BeijingOlympics! Jones actually almost drowned at five-years old, but he overcame his fears to become one of the best swimmers in the nation!

Lia Neal was born in #Brooklyn, raised in #Manhattan, and is currently is a senior at Convent of the Sacred Heart on the Upper East Side! She receives a lot of noteriety for becoming the second female African-American swimmer to compete in the #Olympics! Look for her to compete (for Gold) in the 4×100 relays, and onward in the #2016BrazilOlympics!

John Orozco hailing from the #SouthBronx will be competing in the gymnastics routine. He won the US all-around Championship and claimed the silver medal in high bar and pummel horse earlier this year! He raises the bar in terms of style and versatility, and is the one #Olympian that came straight out of the gym!

Samyr Laine is representing Haiti in the Triple-Jump for the upcoming #Olympics! He passed the #NY Bar examination, graduated from Harvard (2006), and then took two years off to go for the Gold! Haiti is rooting for him, as he would be the first Haitian to medal in the event since Sylvio Cator claimed Silver in the 1928 #Olympics!

Heather O’Reilly and Abby Wambach celebrate after scoring the first goal of the 2011 World Cup against Columbia.

In Women’s Soccer, Abby Wambach is representing #Rochester (NY), and her four teammates: Heather O’Reilly, Christie Rampone, Carli Lloyd, and Tobin Heath are all #Jersey natives. Rampone is the team captain, and mother of two from Manasquan #Jersey! O’Reilly is quick to the ball, Lloyd is great midfielder, and Heath is still young and developing into a solid player. These ladies are tactical and graceful, wild and fun, and made it the #WorldCup Finals in #Germany last year with amazing late-game heroics! They became well-known all over the #US after their heroic #WorldCup run! Wambach got notierity for clutch shots, and Hope Solo got fame for her good looks and beautiful personality.

Tim Morehouse fencing

Daryl Homer, Race Imboden, Timothy Morehouse, Nicole Ross, Dagmara Wozniak and Nzingha Prescod are competing in the fencing event! Daryl Homer and Dagmara Wozniak are representing #StJohns #Manhattan! Homer is a native of St Thomas Virgin Islands, and ranked #1 in the US! Wozniak was born in Poland, raised in Avenel #Jersey, and ranked #10 in the US! Tim Morehouse took home the silver in the #Beijing2008Olympics, and grew up in Riverdale section of the #Bronx! Nzingha Prescod comes straight out of #Brooklyn, and Nicole Ross was born and raised in #Manhattan! Ross had been competing with her older brothers since she was 10 years old!
