NBA Draft 2012

@SportsBata ..nuff said

“It’s crazy. Michael is a great player,” Davis said of Kidd-Gilchrist. Being at the top of the selections at Prudential Center in Newark was “undescribable,” Davis said. “A great feeling. I’ve wanted this all my life and it’s finally here.” – nypost

#NBADraft2012 AS predicted, the New Orleans Hornets selected Kentucky Forward Anthony Davis for the #1 pick in the 2012 #NBADraft, last night! #Hornets also got Duke phenom PG Austin Rivers (son of #Celtics coach Doc Rivers) at the #10 pick as well! The shocker was the Charlotte Bobcats selecting Davis’ teammate Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for the #2 pick in the #Draft! It was the first time ever that teammates went #1 and #2 in the #Draft! In fact, ‘Tucky had six players, dubbed ‘Special Six’ (chart below), go in the first round and second round! The #Celtics banked at the #Draft scooping up Ohio State PF Jared Sullinger (#21) and ‘Cuse C Fab Melo (#22)! #NY favorite (St. Johns) Moe Harkless got picked up by the Sixers at the #15 pick! The #Rockets made a smart move picking up U-Conn SG Jeremy Lamb for the 13th pick; the #Suns snatched up NC PG Kendall Marshall for the 14th pick! Check out Pick-by-Pick analysis, Team #Draft grades, #Draft last-minute trade picks, #Draft photo gallery, and the Lottery Picks – Top 14 chart below!

The Brooklyn Nets selected Tyshawn Taylor, a Kansas Jayhawk senior guard, for their 41st pick in the #Draft.

#BrooklynPicks The #Brooklyn Nets shopped around for three solid second-round picks: Tyshawn Taylor (Kansas) for the 41st pick, #Hoboken native, a product of #JerseyCity (Bob Hurley at St. Anthony HS), Tornike Shengelia for the 54th pick, and Ilkan Karaman with 57th overall pick!

The Knicks selected Kostas Papanikolaou for their 48th pick in the Draft.

#KnicksPick The #Knicks picked up Kostas Papanikolaou for the 48th pick in the #NBADraft! Papnaikolaou has a lot of upside, but will not be able to play until the 2013-14 season due to current contract with Greece.

In other #NBA News: #Odom is being traded to #LAClippers for Mo Williams (to the Jazz), #Wade will miss the #Olympics w/ surgery, #KingJames opens up w/ Oprah about Cavs owner letter, former Knick Mark Jackson in a fix w/ nude pix scandal, and #Brooklyn #JKidd and #DWill chill!
