Jets’ Tebow to open Orlando training facility! Giants’ coach Coughlin gets big $$$ extension!

@SportsBata ..nuff said

#Tebow is teaming up with Braves’ 3B Chipper Jones to open a new D1 training facility in Orlando! Giants’ coach Coughlin landed a big $$$ three-year extension, yesterday! In other #NFL news, #Tebow and WR Santonio Holmes are joining Mark Sanchez at his SoCal ‘Jets West’ Camp, and a young fan offered SF 49er’s RB Brandon Jacobs piggy bank money to go back to the Giants!

“I haven’t met Tim. I hope to in the very near future,” Jones said before Wednesday’s game at Miami. “He’s probably the most recognizable figure in America right now. We’re from the same area in Jacksonville. I know he comes from a good family.

“His faith is as strong as anybody you’ll ever meet. And I don’t even know him, you know? So that’s my impression of him from afar. That being said, I’m a long-time loyal Gator, and he can do no wrong in my eyes.”

“It’s one of those business opportunities that comes along,” Jones said. “D1 in Tampa has done really well. Other D1s around the southeastern United States have done well. It’s a chance for young kids to get some constructive exercise from professional athletes.” – espn

Jets newly acquired QB Tim Tebow and Atlanta Braves 3B Chipper Jones are partnering up to open a new D1 training facility in Orlando, FL! It will house an indoor turf field and a state-of-the-art weight room to go with a sports medicine and therapy clinic run by Orlando Orthopaedic Center, which also is an owner. #Tebow invested in D1 training facilities before: Tebow trained at D1 Nashville prior to the 2010 NFL draft. He became a co-owner of D1 Savannah in April 2011 and joined Jones as a co-owner in D1 Tampa in January. A members only training event will be held at the new facility on June 24 with the grand opening a day later. There are already 15 D1 training facilities all over the US which have partnered with the likes of Peyton Manning, Ndamukong Suh etc…

“It has always been my belief that it is an honor and a privilege to be the head  coach of the New York Giants,” Coughlin said. “I’m thankful to [co-owners] John  Mara and Steve Tisch and their families for their support and the recognition of  what our players and coaches have accomplished. And I’m grateful for the working  relationship [GM] Jerry Reese and I have. We’ve got a lot of work left to do.” – nypost

NY Giants coach Tom Coughlin agreed to a three-year term worth $20 Million! It makes him the third highest paid in the #NFL; behind only Bill Belichick ($7.5 million) and Mike Shanahan ($7 million). Coughlin had one-year remaining on his four-year deal he made right after winning Super Bowl XLII in 2007.
