@SportsBata ..nuff said

The #Knicks made a statement and improved to .500 w/ win over Bucks, the Pacers dropped the Heat, and Duke ‘star’ freshman PG Austin Rivers opted for the #NBA Draft!

The NY Knicks beat the Milwaukee Bucks, 89-80, last night! The #Knicks made a statement and improved to .500 (25-25) with the big win over the Bucks! #Melo had 28 points and 12 boards, while playing through a slight groin injury late in the game! The #Knicks persevered w/o #Stat who sat out with a bulging disk in his back, and #JLin out with a sore knee! The #Knicks D shut down Bucks’ prolific PG tandem: Brandon Jennings was kept to 15 points on 6-22 shooting and Monta Ellis was kept to four points on 2-14 shooting! The #Knicks also dominated the glass: JR Smith snagged 10 boards, #Chandler grabbed nine, and Landry Fields snatched eight boards!

The Indiana Pacers dropped the Heat, 105-90, last night! The Heat got beat by #OKC two nights ago, and the Pacers last night! The Pacers have a great front seven, and are often underestimated! Danny Granger (pic above) had 25 points and nine boards, and Darren Collison slashed in 20 points for the Pacers! The Pacers beat the Heat on the boards (49-33), assists (20-11), and better shooting! For the Heat, Lebron had 24 points and nine boards, and Wade added 24 points!

”Duke has prepared me for the challenges that are ahead both on and off the court,” Rivers said in a statement issued by the school. ”I have learned so much from the coaching staff and my teammates that will help me succeed at the next level.”

”Austin had a terrific year as a freshman and has put himself in a position to pursue his dream of being a great player in the NBA,” coach Mike Krzyzewski said, adding that he supports the decision. ”We look forward to watching him continue to develop and excel at the next level.”

”Listen, going to the NBA if you’re going to get drafted in the first round, that’s good,” Doc Rivers said. ”Going back to Duke, that’s good. So I don’t know if you have a bad choice.” – foxsports

Phenom PG Austin Rivers has opted for the #NBA Draft after his freshman season at Duke! He led the team in scoring (15.5 ppg) and was the unanimous choice for the Atlantic Coast Conference’s rookie of the year! He is only the third Duke freshman ever to lead the team in scoring: Johnny Dawkins (1983) and Bill Sapp (1945).

He is immediately following in the footsteps of Kyrie Irving, who opted for the #NBA draft after his freshman season at Duke, last year, and became the #1 pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers! Chicago Bulls’ Luol Deng left Duke after his freshman season in 2004, and Corey Meggette did the same in 1999.

He is the son of former Knick and current Boston Celtics’ coach Doc Rivers! Doc feels that it is a win-win situation either way you look at it! Check it out above!
