‘Superman’ stays in Orlando!

@SportsBata ..nuff said

“Man, listen, you know my heart, my soul and everything I have is in Orlando. … I just can’t leave it behind,” Howard told RealGM.com.

“I have gotten some bad advice,” Howard said, according to the report. “I apologize for this circus I have caused to the fans of our city. They didn’t deserve none of this. I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart. I will do whatever I can to make this right and do what I was put in Orlando to do.” – espn

After much talk about a trade (to the Nets), Dwight Howard AKA ‘Superman’ waived his right to free-agency and will remain with the Orlando Magic through next season! The #NBA trade deadline ends at 3PM today! He will become a free-agent at the end of next season, and can make a move at that time.

The 2010-11 Defensive Player of the Year was stuck on the fence about staying with his loyal Orlando fanbase, or moving onto a potential Championship caliber team. I give him much respect for staying with his team through all the hype and hoopla in the #NBA today.

He still has the option of signing a two or three-year contract extension with the Magic, or he can simply collect the $19 Million from the Magic next season and become a free-agent then. He does risk injury, and a potential long-term contract w/ the Magic or other teams next season.
