Red Sox Fenway park was placed on the National Register of Historic Places! Mayor Bloomberg stuck up for Jets current QB Mark Sanchez, and told the media that NY (Jets) doesn’t need ‘Super’ (Peyton) Manning! Miami Heat player’s Lebron and Wade have been trying to recruit Peyton Manning to the Miami Dolphins!
To mark its 100-year anniversary, (Boston Red Sox) Fenway park was placed on the National Register of Historic Places! What that means is Fenway Park will be secured for decades, protected from demolition or destruction, and any changes to the park are subject to review by the Massachusetts Historical Commission. Fenway was built during the Golden Age of Ballparks, and the first official game was played on April 20, 1912. It is the nation’s oldest operating MLB stadium. Many legends passed through Fenway including: Carl Yastrzemski, Ted Williams, Carlton Fisk, and Babe Ruth.
The Red Sox say they sought the designation and are pleased the ballpark ”will be counted among America’s most treasured historical places.” – foxsports
#NY Mayor Bloomberg got on his radio show earlier today, and rejected a plea to recruit ‘Super’ (Peyton) Manning to the NY Jets! Peyton Manning was just released from the Colts. Bloomberg said although the idea of Manning-Manning NY-NY sounds nice, but the talk and speculation is not fair to Jets current QB Mark Sanchez. Sanchez gets a lot of criticism, but has already brought the Jets to two Championship games in his young career! Bloomberg says, “Cut it out!” Check it out!
“We have a Manning playing for the Giants,” the mayor said, referring to Peyton’s brother, Eli.
“I think it’d be a great story for the press– Manning vs. Manning, both playing in New York. But keep in mind the Jets have a young quarterback in Mark Sanchez and he nearly led his team to the Super Bowl twice. So let’s not dismiss. He’s sitting there.” – nypost
