#NBA All-Star Weekend #Orlando kicks off tonight with the Celebrity game, and is highlighted by the Saturday night Sprite Slam-Dunk Contest and Foot Locker three-point contest! The All-Star game (on Sunday) is the main event, but Saturday night is most watched. Check out the full break-down the weekend events and full TV schedule below!
Ne-Yo, Common, and Kevin Hart will play ball in the Celebrity game tonight!
Knicks’ J-Lin and Landry Fields will play on #TeamShaq (vs. #TeamChuck) in the Rising Stars Challenge tonight! Kemba Walker and Blake Griffin will also be on #TeamShaq squad! NJ Nets rookie Marshon Brooks will play on #TeamChuck! The rookies and sophomores are mixed and already picked by the captain’s Sir Charles and Shaq! The losing captain must attempt a 300-ft bungy jump.
The Haier Shooting Star Challenge has four teams from different cities that are comprised of a new player, former player, and WNBA player together. They must wait for each to make their shot before the next teammate can shoot! Team NY got Knicks Landry Fields, former Knick Allan Houston, and NY Libertys’ Cappie Poindexter!
The Taco Bell Skills Challenge is a mix between making shots, making passes, and cutting around obstacles in the quickest time! Defending champion Stephen Curry of the Warriors will not play (injury), and Boston C’s finatical PG Rajon Rondo will take his place! NJ Nets Deron Williams AKA D-Will will compete, and notable rookie Cleveland Cav’s Kyrie Irving should be fun to watch as well!
Foot Locker Three-Point Contest is a heavy favorite for the week-end. Latest addition #OKC Kevin Durant will make the event interesting! NJ Nets Anthony Morrow will compete, and reigning champion Heat James Jones will attempt to defend his crown!
The most-watched, biggest event of the weekend is and always will be the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest! Knicks Iman Schumpert was replaced by Utah Jazz Jeremy Evans due to injury. This year they are using a new format that utilizes a Slam Net Force Meter!
The Sprint Pregame Concert will feature Gym Class Heroes playing their new smash hit, “Get Yourself Back Home” featuring Neon Hitch, and rapper J. Cole will perform, “Work Out” and “Can’t Get Enough”!
#NBA All-Star Game rosters are all set! Repping the East: #Melo from the Knicks, D-Will from the Nets, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo from the Boston C’s, and the Big three from Miami! Repping the West: Kobe and Andrew Bynum from the Lakers, CP3 and Blake Griffin from #LobCity #LAClippers, and Kevin Durant from #OKC! Nicki Minaj will sing a mixed medley during the introductions, and M.J.B. will sing the National Anthem! Pitbull and Ne-Yo will highlight the half-time show!
