#Jets replaced their OC, blasted current QB Mark Sanchez, and are aggressively pursuing Colts QB Peyton Manning!
The Jets replaced offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer with former Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano (pic above). Schott received a lot of scrutiny for difficult unconventional plays, posting 25th ranked offense in the league, and losing big games behind Jets QB Mark Sanchez! Schott still had two years/$3.2 Million left on his contract, so walking away completely is not a realistic option. The Jets instead are helping him line up another position, and treating him with utmost respect on his departure. Check out Schott’s exiting statement!
“After much thought and consideration, I have decided not to return to the New York Jets in 2012,” Schottenheimer said in the statement. “I am very proud of what we have accomplished in the six years I have been here. I am grateful for the relationships that I have with our players and coaches and appreciate the hard work and dedication that went into our success. My family and I would like to thank Rex Ryan and the entire Jets organization and wish them continued success. I look forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.” – nypost
Jets blasted current QB Mark Sanchez, and are looking to replace him with legendary Colts QB Peyton Manning (pic above)! The Jets already signed former Colts offensive coordinator Tom Moore, who served as a mentor to Manning for over a decade. Check it out!
“How can we when he’s not improving at all?” one of Sanchez’s teammates said. “He thinks he is, but he’s not. He has shown us what he’s capable of.”
“We have to bring in another quarterback that will make him work at practice,” said one player, “He’s lazy and content because he knows he’s not going to be benched.”
“Come on. That’s a no-brainer,” a Jets source said. “If you have a chance to get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning and you don’t do it, then you’re stupid. If I could get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning, then, hell yeah, I would trade Sanchez.”
“We already have his coach — Tom Moore,” one well-respected player said. “Plus, he’s a field general and will get everyone lined up. He will get his playmakers the ball. We can win a Super Bowl with Peyton.” – nydailynews
Sanchez seems to believe he is a prominent leader for the Jets! Check it out!
“I’m not out to prove anything like that to people,” Sanchez said four days before the Jets finished out of the playoffs at 8-8. “I just want to work hard for these guys on the team. These guys know I’m leading by example. These are the guys I’m playing for right here in this locker room and in this building.” – nydailynews
