Ricky Rubio rolled in his #NBA debut with six assists, six points, five boards, and no TO’s in a 104-100 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, last night! Rubio finally played in the NBA, after being the most highly sought out European player for years. He was the first player to be born in the 1990’s in the 2009 NBA Draft (#5 pick)! He didn’t end up officially signing with the Timberwolves until this season, electing to sign with FC Barcelona from 2009-11! He was also the youngest player ever to play in the Spanish ACB league in 2005 at the tender age of 14 (pic below)! In the 2006 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship, he collected two triple-doubles and one quadruple double. In the double-OT finale victory over Russia, he scored an astonishing 51 points, collected 24 boards, 12 assists, and seven steals. He is a phenomenal passer, natural scorer, and overall quite thrifty with the ball. Check out his NBA debut and mixtape below!
