The NY Knicks claimed veteran shooter 6-foot-10 F Steve Novak off waivers on Wednesday night for a veteran’s minimum $1.1 Million! Novak was released from the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. Novak has an astonishing 41.7% shooting from three point range over his five year career.
“He’s a shooter and spreads the floor, it’s obvious something we could need,” D’Antoni said. “You can’t have too many shooters.” – nypost
The NJ Nets signed DeShawn Stevenson to a one-year deal worth $2.5 Million! He played for five teams over 12 years, and averaged 7.7 ppg and 2.2 rpg. He can be a clutch player, and played an integral part in the Mavericks winning the championship last year. Check out the excerpt of his Finals contribution!
With the Mavs trailing the Miami Heat two games to one in the series, Stevenson scored 11 points in Game 4 to help spark the Mavs to victory. Then, in the title-clinching Game 6, Stevenson hit three big 3-pointers with the Mavs trailing and Dirk Nowitzki in foul trouble to push the team to a lead. – espn
