NBA Latest Trades

@SportsBata ..nuff said

The NBA rejected CP3 to Lakers three-team trade, Dwight Howard likes the Nets, and Tyson Chandler is close to becoming the next NY Knick! Camps open today, and the NBA opens season on Dec 25! The NBA also officially ratified the new 10-year CBA agreement that promises owners savings of perhaps a quarter billion dollars a year but largely leaves intact the soft salary cap system that the players fought hard to maintain – foxsports.

”It’s a new beginning in a way,” NBA Commissioner David Stern said. ”It’s going to take a couple of years to work its way out, but we’re very excited about its prospects.” – foxsports

CP3 to Lakers three-team trade

New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets, and the LA Lakers attempted a three-team trade, Thursday night! The Lakers would get Chris Paul AKA CP3 from the Hornets, the Rockets would get Pau Gasol from the Lakers, and the Hornets would get Lamar Odom from the Lakers, three decent players (Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, and Goran Dragic), and a first-round draft pick from the Rockets. The Commish denied the request, and the teams appealed the ruling earlier this morning. Cavaliers coach (still bitter from the Lebron trade) wrote a letter to the commish, and may have influenced his decision. Check it out!

“I just don’t see how we can allow this trade to happen,” wrote Cav’s coach Dan Gilbert, who went on to ask, “When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?” foxsports

Dwight Howard interested in the Nets

Orlando Magic Dwight Howard is showing strong interest in the NJ Nets! The Nets and Houston Rockets met with Howard in Miami, Thursday night, and now may be in violation of NBA tampering rules by not informing (his current team) the Magic of the meeting. The current arrangement would trade Howard to the Nets for C Brook Lopez and two first-round draft picks. The Nets would also take back PG Hedo Turkoglu and the three years/$34 Million remaining on his contract. Check out Nets PG Deron Williams comments on the trade!

“He’s a monster. He’s like a created player. He’s not real,” Deron Williams said this week when discussing Howard, whose acquisition would “convince” the All-Star point guard to stay a Net.

“I’ve talked to him a lot,” Williams added. “We’ve had some conversations. He knows I want to play with him. I don’t think there’s a player in the NBA who doesn’t want to play with Dwight Howard. I think he would love to play with me, as well.” – foxsports

Tyson Chandler to the Knicks

Dallas Mavericks C Tyson Chandler is close to a deal with the NY Knicks for a reported four-year/ $58 Million contract! The only issue is the Knicks do not have salary cap room, and must trade or release PG Chauncey Billups on a forthcoming amnesty clause. The amnesty clause is part of the new agreement, and allows any team to pick up the player off waivers as long as they have the salary cap room. Billups is not happy about being sent down river! Check it out!

“He’s irate under the circumstances,” Billups agent Andy Miller told Yahoo! Sports. “He felt this would be his final destination, and he was promised that he would be playing for a team that was going to be competing for the playoffs. He has no intention of being open-minded about any possible situation where a team would claim him off waivers, unless it’s a team he chooses himself. Buyer beware.” – foxsports
