Pacquiao wins controversial majority decision

@SportsBata ..nuff said

Pacquiao vs. Marquez III went the distance, and Pacquiao won on majority split decision, but the battle seems unresolved. To many people in the sell-out crowd of 16, 368, Marquez seemed to be the victor, landed bigger shots and was more aggressive, but the scorecard shows different. On the judges scorecard: Glenn Trowbridge (116-112) and Dave Moretti (115-113) favored Pacquiao, and Robert Hoyle called it a 114-114 draw. Pacquiao was credited with landing 176 of 578 punches, while Marquez landed 138 of 436. In terms of power punches: Pacquiao connected on 117 to 100 — though Marquez seemed to land the harder punches. It was the 15th straight win for Pacquiao, who earned a minimum of $22 million while improving his record to 54-3-2. Marquez, who earned $5 million, fell to 52-6-1. – espn Talks of a Marquez vs. Pacquiao IV have already been discussed following the fight! Check out a piece of the action below!

“It was clear to me I won,” Pacquiao said. “I clearly won.”

“He was ready for my punches,” Pacquiao said. “I thought I blocked a lot of his punches.”

“This is robbery of the utmost,” said Marquez’s trainer, Nacho Beristain.

“Honestly, I don’t know what I need to do to change the minds of the judges,” Marquez said. “Everybody knows what happened. I think I won this fight. It’s very frustrating.”

“I am bound and determined to find a definitive winner once and for all,” promoter Bob Arum said. “If I can get both fighters to agree, I’d like to do a fourth fight once and for all.” – foxsports
