Lebron James scored 43 points, as his blue team beat the white team 158-151 at Rudy Gay’s charity/exhibition game, last night! Memphis Grizzlies Rudy Gay dropped 45 points for the white team along with NBA leading scorer Kevin Durant AKA KD who scored 29 points. Sacramento Kings star Tyreke Evans made quite an impression, and former NBA All-Star Penny Hardaway made a couple buckets. The charity game (with proceeds going to Gay’s Flight 22 Foundation) took place 10 miles south of Memphis in the Desoto Civic Center just along the Mississippi. 6,000 fans were on hand to see highlight reel dunks, three pointers pumped just inside half court, and big NBA stars on strike. The exhibition game took place just hours after the the NBA Players’ Association told commissioner David Stern it would not accept the owners’ take-it-or-leave-it offer to end the lockout. – espn The players came onto the court wearing Nike “Basketball Never Stops” shirts (pic below), sending a message to the NBA owners.

“These guys all have very, very busy schedules, and a couple of guys didn’t make it because of (Tuesday’s mandatory union) meeting (in New York),” Gay said. “I can only say that we as players, we want to play. But we’re not going to be bullied into playing.” – espn
