The Yankees re-signed their ace C.C. Sabathia to a $122 Million/five-year deal, yesterday. The Yankees added one year and $30 Million to his existing contract ($92 Million/four-year deal). He had until midnight to opt out of his existing deal, but he decided to stay with the Yankees. He is the best pitcher on the Yankees roster, and belongs in the Bronx.
”My son loves it here. All my kids love it here. My wife loves it here, obviously, and I do, too. I love pitching for the Yankee fans and everything, so it was the easy choice,” Sabathia said during a conference call. – foxsports
Breaking News: Today, Yankees GM Brian Cashman agreed to a three-year deal, estimated at a little over $2 Million per year. He started with the Yankees in 1998, and has the third longest tenure as a general manager in MLB history. He collected four championships as GM for the Yankees. Cashman will address the media at a 2PM conference call.
In 2006, Cashman successfully negotiated with George Steinbrenner for more firm control of how the organization operates. Since then, Cashman has tried to place more of an emphasis on the farm system. – espn
