With the NBA lock-out still in full effect, the ‘rookies’ are in limbo with no way to go. NBA training camps and exhibition games will be canceled at the end of today! Jimmer Fredette, #10 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, decided to host an All-Star game in Utah at Brigham Young University. He played college ball at BYU, so it will be a homecoming for him. He is throwing top picks in the mix: Nolan Smith (Portland Trailblazers), Kenneth Faried (Denver Nuggets), Kawhi Leonard (San Antonio Spurs), Kemba Walker (Charlotte Bobcats) and others. Check it out!
“I am really excited for the game,” Fredette said to the Times Union. “A lot of work has been put into
the event and it’s going to be a great one for the fans. There are some very
competitive and skilled players joining us for the game and it will be great to
see everyone come together.”
“For those playing in the Jimmer Fredette exhibition game Thursday at BYU:
$10,000 per player, sources tell Y!” tweeted Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports
On Thursday Fredette and some of the other players went to a local high school
to give away some tickets.
“I have just witnessed craziness in Provo, Utah at a high school!! Wow!!
@jimmerfredette! Lol!” tweeted Smith.
“Haha @jimmerfredette is really the Justin Bieber of basketball especially in
Provo, Utah they LOVE him out here…” tweeted Isaiah Thomas, Sacramento Kings
