K-Mart to play in China

On Wednesday, Denver Nuggets free-agent Kenyon Martin signed a one-year contract with China. He will join free-agent teammates Ty Lawson and Danilo Galinari in China on the Chinese Basketball Association squad, Xinjiang Flying Tigers. Martin will have to play until March (with China’s new law changes), but Lawson and Galinari have the ability to return to the NBA at any time. Nuggets’ J.R. Smith and Wilson Chandler had already signed with the China, Zhejiang province teams. Why not just change the Denver Nuggets team to the Chinese Nuggets, and ship them overseas?
Martin’s agent, Andy Miller, confirmed to The Associated Press the forward has agreed to a deal with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers. He will join shooting guard Quincy Douby, a former first-round draft pick by the Sacramento Kings.
Martin’s signing was first reported by The Denver Post.
”He’s looking forward to the opportunity and global expansion of his image/game,” Miller wrote in an email. ”He’s feeling great.”
