Yankee fan gets sweet deal for DJ3000 ball!
Yankees fan Christian Lopez scrambled for Jeter’s 3000th hit HR in the left-field bleachers of Yankee stadium, Saturday. He came up with the specially marked ball, didn’t ask for much, but was given a sweet deal afterward. Besides being the main feature in the post-game, Lopez was able to meet the Yankee legend, awarded four front-row Legends seats for the remainder of the 2011 season (+post-season); three bats, three balls, and two jerseys autographed by the star! Lopez is only 23 years old out of Highland Mills, NY, and played football at St Lawrence University for a brief stint!
”I was taking a picture, hoping he would hit it, and the next thing I know, it’s in the air and I see my dad diving across a crowd of people,” Lopez said after a whirlwind series of in-game interviews with the media and a postgame meeting with Jeter and several other Yankees. ”My dad missed it, because he has awful hands. The next thing I know, I just saw the ball roll in front of me and I jumped on it. It was instinct.” – foxsports
