w/o Kobi, Chestnut repeated hot-dog champ!
Kobi ate 69 dogs, but Joey Chestnut ate 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes to become the Nathan’s hot dog eating champion! Chestnut won his fifth year in a row w/o Kobi! The festivities continued in Coney Island yesterday w/ o Kobi! Takera Kobayashi AKA Kobi beat the record unofficially with 69 dogs at a seperate location in Manhattan (230 fifth ave rooftop bar) with the Empire State Building as the back-drop! Six-time champ Kobi also beat Chestnuts record of 68 set two years ago. Over 500 supporters showed up for the “real champ” Kobi! Major League Eating has been holding a vice on Kobi’s balls, since they offered (essencely forced him) into a contract, two years ago, that would only allow him certain events and the league would control his endorsements. He refused to sign the contract. W/O Kobi, there would not be an eating contest like this!!! Like this!!! Check out the video at the 1:48 minute mark to see Kobi’s victory!
“I’m so happy to break the record in front of everyone,” Kobi beamed.
Asked if it was harder to compete with no one standing next to him Kobayashi said through a translator, “I compete for myself, I was battling myself today.”
In the past, MLE president Richard Shea said the league wouldn’t recognize Kobayashi’s achievement if he wins.
“It’s a farce,” said Shea. “He’s not banned, he’s just mad he lost three years in a row.”
