Mayweather gives to fallen foe
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has got a bad wrap when it comes to the media, but he does good deeds too. On June 7th, former boxing champion Genaro Hernandez passed away after battling cancer for three years. Mayweather offered to foot all the bills for the funeral for his family. Mayweather beat Hernandez in the late 90’s to get his first title belt (pic above), which ended up being Hernandez’s last fight. Mayweather business associate Leonard Ellerbee spoke for him. “As soon as he found out about it, he called and asked me to find out the details so he could help out.”
“He doesn’t like to take credit for those kinds of things, and he would probably get mad at me for saying this, but it is the kind of heart he has,” said Ellerbe. (courtesy Source)
