Futuristic Fashion: 3D-printed Bikini

Fashion meets technology with the N12 Bikini, which is the first entirely 3D-printed, ready-to-wear article of clothing seen by the world. The advanced SLS 3D printing technology creates the bikini out of a variety of nylon material (plastic is literally shaped by lasers into the design), and creates a piece of fashion which requires absolutely no sewing. Designers Jenna Fizel and Mary Huang of Continuum Fashion teamed up with Shapeways to make the vision a reality, hoping to pave the way toward incorporating technological trends with the textile industry. For more about this cutting-edge piece of waterproof swimwear, check out the video below, or read more about it at their website.
