Carl Lewis wins NJ primary!
Nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis has won the uncontested Democratic primary for NJ State Senate race. He still has hurdles to overcome before his name is put on the ballot in November. He would be facing Republican state Sen. Dawn Marie Addiego, who is trying vehemently to prevent him to even reach the Nov. ballot. Their claim is that he doesn’t meet the four-year NJ residency requirement. Lewis is California native. He owns homes in NJ since 2005, but continued to vote in California until April when he ran for the position. A federal court ruled tha Lewis will stay on the primary ballot until the situation is sorted out.
