Shaq’s official last remarks
Shaq went live on ESPN in his own living room, today, to make his retirement official with last remarks. He kept the show serious, but light and lively with his comic inquisition. He jokingly went right after Knicks GM position; Donnie Walsh just retired from the NY Knicks as GM. He gave props to former Laker coach Phil Jackson and Celtics coach Doc Rivers. He gave props to Kobe, but let everyone know he got the Finals MVP those Championship years (2000-2002) with the Lakers. He broke down that he is the only “Superman” anyone else is a copycat. He wants to go by ” The Big AARP” or “401K” as his new name, and ESPN analyst may not be to far from the making. The Big Man shut em down and is ready to move on to the next one. “Never thought this day would come,” O’Neal said. “Father Time has finally caught up with Shaquille O’Neal.”
“I’m the luckiest guy in the world,” O’Neal said.
“This is a bittersweet day on behalf of the family,” said O’Neal’s mother, Lucille Harrison. “It’s been 19 years, but the 19 years have gone by so quick.”
