Granderson hits the books!


Curtis Granderson hit the record books with his 17th HR last night! He became the first player since Babe Ruth to hit at least 17 HR’s and five triples before June 1. He hit his two-run shot (17 HR) to start off the first inning in the Yankees 10-3 win over the Oakland Athletics, last night! Babe Ruth had 19 HR’s and five triples before June 1, 1928 and ended up with 54 HR’s and eight triples that season.

Granderson, Cano, A-Rod, and Jeter were all on fire in last night’s 10-3 win over the Athletics! Granderson went 3-5 with four RBI’s and two runs. Freddy Garcia got his 4th win of the season (4-4) with seven innings pitched, nine hits, three earned runs, two walks, and five K’s. Robinson Cano added his 11th HR of the season with a two-run blast in the fifth inning. A-Rod was 3-4 with three RBI’s. Derek Jeter was 2-4 scoring three runs. (info, stats courtesy espn)
