Pacquiao wins decision over Mosley
Manny Pacquiao AKA Pac-Man chomped up ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley, last night, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas with a unanimous decision victory to retain the WBO Welterweight Title Belt. The fight went the distance, but lacked action. Pac-Man knocked Sugar Shane to the canvas in the third round, and then it was cat and mouse the rest of the way. The Judge scored a knock-down in the 10th Round for Mosley, but Pac-Man wasn’t hit by a punch. The crowd was chanting for Pac-Man to “Knock him out! – Knock him out!” in the 11th round, but Pac-Man tank was empty (and leg cramp). Pacquiao record improved to (54-3-2, 38 KO’s) and Mosley record went to (46-7-1-1, 39 KO’s). Read the excerpt, courtesy espn, and Watch the third-round knock down video below!
“I fought the best fighter in the world,” Mosley said. “He has exceptional power, power that I’ve never been hit like this before.”
“It wasn’t my best performance,” Pacquiao said. “I did my best. I did not expect this result.”
“I thought Shane did a great job, he had some speed,” Pacquiao said. “I couldn’t move because my left leg got tight. It’s a problem I’ve been having lately. I’m going to work on my legs in future training camps.”
Pacquiao won 120-108 on one scorecard, 120-107 on a second and 119-108 on the third. The Associated Press had him winning 118-110.
