2011 NFL Draft: First-Round Picks

The NFL Draft went off without a hitch, and Cam Newton, Auburn Tigers QB, made the #1 overall pick in the draft. The Atlanta Falcons traded up to get Julio Jones for the #4 pick. The Jacksonville Jaguars traded up to get Blaine Gabbert for the #10 pick. The Lions got a steal at the #13 pick with Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn, who was suppose in the top ten picks. The Jets were lucky to get Prince Amukamara at the #19 pick, as he was projected to be picked just out of the top ten. The New Orleans Saints swapped up with the Patriots to snatch RB Mark Ingram at the #28 pick, the only RB picked in the first round. Saints current RB, Reggie Bush, thinks he will be traded or replaced for Ingram. Bush tweeted, “It’s been fun New Orleans,” after the Saints selected Ingram.
