Knicks keep Mr. Big Shot!

The NY Knicks made a smart move, and secured PG Chauncey Billups for his full $14.2 Million salary for 2011-2012 season. On Wednesday, the Knicks passed up the buy-out option on Chauncey. The Knicks have until Friday to pick up the option or pay Billups a $3.7 Million buy-out. Chauncey will be 35 and entering his 15th NBA season in September, but is still playing at the top of his game. He averaged 17.5 points and 5.5 assists for his 21 games as a NY Knick this season. “Chauncey, Amare [Stoudemire] and Chauncey [Billups] are a great nucleus, as we continue to look to improve our team going into the offseason,” Knicks president of basketball operations Donnie Walsh said in a statement. “Chauncey is an extremely talented and experienced point guard — we are very happy to have him back.”
