Yankees size up the Red Sox

Yankees manager Joe Girardi, Joba, and Jeter size up the Red Sox just before a three game series at Fenway Park. Game 1 is today at 2:05 PM EST YES. The Red Sox have started the season 0-6, and the Yankees a formidable 4-2. The Yankees held on to a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, yesterday. Check out NY Daily News cover below! Here is some conversation:

“It doesn’t take much for a team to turn it around especially when you are as talented as they are,” Girardi said. “We know that. It’s not probable that teams are going to lose five games in a row very often during the course of the season, it just happened to them at the beginning of the year. We’ll have a tremendous amount of respect for what they can do and you gotta make your pitches and you have to get timely hitting.” (quote full article espn)

“Who cares if they’re 0-6 or 6-0?” reliever Joba Chamberlain said. “They’re still a talented ballclub. And we know that. We’re not looking at their record. We’re looking at the talent they’re putting on the field that we’re going to have to face. We’re not playing their record. We’re playing their team.” (quote full article syracuse blog)

“There are 156 games left,” Derek Jeter said.“I’m pretty sure they’ll win their share of games. I think a lot of times people pay too much attention to the first week of the season.”(quote full article yankees blog)
