Sex Can Kill You
According to Reuters, sex can indeed have a negative impact on your heart – that is if you’re a sedentary individual.
“Sudden bursts of moderate to intense physical activity — such as jogging or having sex — significantly increase the risk of having a heart attack, especially in people who do not get regular exercise.”
It’s unfortunate but it makes perfect sense. If you’re already obese or you’ve got heavily clogged arteries, and a million other factors that keep you at risk for a heart attack, engaging in sex can’t be of much help.
“The team analyzed data from 14 studies looking at the link between exercise, sex and the risk of heart attacks or sudden cardiac death…
“People are 3.5 times more likely to get a heart attack or have sudden cardiac death when they are exercising compared to when they are not.”
Sedentary and obese individuals need to work themselves up to this level and type of exertion. Yes, sex can be that physically exhausting and stressful on the heart. If walking, jogging or swimming is too physically demanding on your body and heart, then sex should probably be on the list too.
“People who do not exercise regularly need to start any exercise program slowly, gradually increasing the intensity of the workout over time.”
When your heart is racing, you’re out of breath, your hormones are whacky and your blood pressure either drops or goes sky through the roof, it’s so important that you are physically adept to handle the stress.
Something to think about and another reason to start exercising. @SelenaBailey
