Nicki Minaj sets milestone for Female Rappers
Fourteen weeks after the release of her debut album ‘Pink Friday,’ Nicki Minaj has set an additional milestone for female rappers, with her first solo album breaking the record for most consecutive weeks spent in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. Minaj took to her twitter to break the news saying
@NickiMinaj“Now 14 weeks ; PINK FRIDAY BREAKS the RECORD for MOST CONSECUTIVE weeks in the TOP 10 by a female rap album on Billboard’s 200, Thank you for your continued support.”
Additionally, she became the first female rapper to have the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 in October with sales of almost 4.3 million. When her album ‘Pink Friday’ was released in November, she also became the first female rapper since Eve to have the No.1 album in the country. Minaj is set to go on tour with Lil Wayne on his I Am Still Music tour, beginning March 18 in Buffalo, N.Y.
