Amar’e talks and blocks Hawks

Amar’e talked a big game and backed it up when he blocked Hawks Al Horford. Before last night’s game, Amar’e had some choice words for the Hawks’ [Horford] arrival to MSG (following last time when Hawks Marvin Williams attacked Knicks Sean Williams), and Al Horford attempted to respond. Amar’e and the Knicks had the last laugh; not only did Amar’e dominate Horford one on one, but the Knicks got the easy victory 102-90. The Knicks got a much needed win to improve their record to 28-26 and go on the up and up before All-Star break. Check out the full highlight video, with the Amar’e block on Horford at the 1:54 Mark! [Down by 14, Al Horford tried to hush the crowd at the 2:13 Mark]

“He don’t want to see me,” Stoudemire said after Tuesdays practice. “I watched him play at Florida, and I’ve seen him play a few years in Atlanta. We’ve got two different games, and we’ll see how it plays out.”

Stoudemire added, “It’s going to be a very, very intense game after what happened in Atlanta,”

“I don’t understand what he means by that, ‘He don’t want to see me.’ Like we’re supposed to be scared of [Stoudemire]. Ain’t nobody scared of him.” Al Horford response to Amar’e Wednesday morning after shoot-around

“He’s a talker, he’s going to talk,” Horford said of Amar’e. “And all I do is, I bring my game to the court. And that’s what I’m going to do tonight.”
