Packers win Super Bowl XLV!!!

QB Aaron Rodgers won the MVP and led the Green Bay Packers to the 31-25 Super Bowl XLV victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers! (Sun Feb 6) That’s great news for the Packers, who essentially started the Super Bowl in the first place, “Vince Lombardi Trophy”. The game came down to final play, but the Packers D prevailed over the Steelers final last-minute drive. LB Clay Matthews forced essentially the game-winning fumble. 2009 Defensive player of the year CB Charles Woodson (lost Super Bowl XXXVI on the Oakland Raiders) broke his collar bone in the second quarter, and gave an inspirational half-time speech to keep the crew motivated, check out a video below. I am elated for WR Greg Jennings and WR Donald Driver, who have put their work in for years under the radar, and so deserve the Super Bowl Championship!

Rodgers completed 24 of 39 passes for 304 yards and three TD’s. He joins 49ers Steve Young(XXIX) and 49ers Joe Montana(XIX) on the over 300 yards, three TD’s, and no picks club.

The Packers took all three of the Steelers TO’s and turned them (next drive) into TD’s. They are only the third team in Super Bowl history to do so. On the first interception in the 1st quarter, Packers S Nick Collins returned the ball 37 yards for the TD. On the second interception in the 2nd quarter, the Steelers scored on the next drive, finishing with a 21-yard TD strike to WR Greg Jennings. Steelers RB Rashard Mendenhall fumbled late in the third quarter that led to Greg Jennings 8-yard TD catch on the ensuing drive.

The Packers WR Jordy Nelson put up some stats catching nine passes for 140 yards and one TD. WR Greg Jennings had two pivotal TD grabs and ended up with four receptions for 64 yards.
