More Advertisers Pull Out of MTV’s “Skins,”
Have you watched MTV’s new late night show, “Skins?”
In a nutshell, it’s about drugs, sex, sexuality, and lesbianism. Of course, all of that on a network TV show comes with media backlash controversy. Many have come down on the show for what it is depicting to its audience.
Taco Bell was the first to pull out of supporting the series. They said, “It is not a fit for our brand.”
Now, Subway is pulling out as a result of complaints from the Parents Television Council who asked Subway not the advertise tonight’s episode.
H&R Block, General Motors and Wrigley’s may soon follow suit and pull out of advertising the show.
What do you think? Is the show to risque or is it the perfect depiction of what is going on with our youth this country? Some are just afraid to admit it.
Viacom executives met with the show’s producers in regard to toning down future episodes however I think they should just put the show on at a later time, and leave it to each parent in a home to use their discretion toward keeping their children from watching it. @SelenaBailey
