Kobe gets Star on Hollywood Blvd.

Kobe Bryant will be the first athlete to have his hand and foot imprinted into the Hollywood Walk-of- Fame, according to the LA Times from Thursday, Jan 20. The ceremony will take place on Feb 19 in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

It will take place amongst the festivities of the NBA All-Star Weekend, LA Staples Center, Feb 18-20.

“To be a part of such elite company is a tremendous honor. I’m proud to be the first athlete to be recognized,” Bryant said in a statement.

He will reportedly later throw a gala attended by at least 1,200 guests.

Kobe has been acting behind-the-scenes as well. He has been working on a short-film directed by Robert Rodriguez and in conjunction with Nike. The Rodriguez mini-movie (it’s eight minutes long, according to Entertainment Weekly) will debut sometime during All-Star weekend.

Kobe also celebrates the 5th anniversary of his 81-point game tommorrow (Jan 22, 2011). Watch the video of his spectacular performance that night!
