Vick named NFL Comeback Player of the Year
A rough week for Eagles fans just got a little bit better.
As expected, Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was named the Comeback Player of the Year.
Vick’s return to the NFL is one of the more impressive sports stories in recent memory.
He played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2001 to 2006, went to prison for his role in a dog fighting ring from 2007 to 2008, played sparingly for the Eagles in 2009, and turned in the best season of his career in 2010.
Vick threw for 21 touchdowns and just six picks, while posting a triple-digit passer rating. He rushed for 676 yards and eight touchdowns, and led the Eagles to their first division title in four years.
Vick is a free agent but if the Eagles have any sense, they’ll lock him up for the next four or five seasons.
