Kiss Cares Coat Drive Brings in over 1,000 Coats
The event was successful to say the least. By the day’s end, a total of 1,030 coats had been collected. 1,030!
All those in attendance enjoyed the live radio broadcast, performances, food sponsored by Golden Krust, games and prizes for donators.
EZ Pawn collaborated with KissFM and New York Cares for the second year in a row through the “Go EZ” promotion. For each coat donated, they will match it with $0.25 towards the Kiss Cares Foundation.
All of the Kiss FM jocks made appearances, as well as singer, Kandi Burruss, from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, who premiered her new single, “Me and U,” off her upcoming album Kandi Koated.
In response to the event’s success, Kiss FM Promotions Coordinator, Kharisma Mitchell, said “It’s great to know that this year alone, in one day, we’re helping over 1,000 people in need. The partnership that Kiss FM and New York Cares has makes a tremendous difference to New Yorkers.”
Mitchell added, “With each donation we collect, we are directly helping someone in need.”
Just think how much we can do everyday for just one other person.
By simply reaching into their closets, and giving away unwanted coats that were in perfectly good condition, New Yorkers made a difference for over one thousand people.
I commend you New York, for your generosity!
It is easy to forget that not everyone has the ability to purchase a new coat every year, and that even more people have no outerwear at all.
It’s going to be a very cold winter here in the Big Apple, so every gesture counts. Socks, shoes, coats, hats, gloves, scarves and all of the things you’ve put into storage can make someone else’s winter a whole lot easier.
The New York Cares Coat Drive continues until Dec. 31, and you can also drop off coats to any of the EZ Pawn locations in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan for the remainder of the month. So, play your part in making a difference for someone in need this winter.
