NBA Friday Night Highlights

Here is the shakedown of last night’s key NBA match-ups:

The “South 3″ did represent Miami last night (Fri Oct 29) with a monsterous home victory over the Orlando Magic. The Orlando Magic lost to the Miami Heat 70-96. My Prediction was: Magic 89, Heat 101. Lebron James was quiet offensively with only 15 points, but dished the ball out with seven assists. The whole Magic team only had five assists total. Dwayne Wade scored 26 points. Chris Bosh contributed 10 rebounds and 11 points. Dwight Howard had 19 points and seven rebounds.

The LA Lakers beat the Phoenix Suns last night (Fri Oct 29) 114-106. My Prediction was: Lakers 102, Suns 105. This was the first road test for Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, and they shined like defending champions should. Kobe Bryant had 25 points and seven rebounds. Pau Gasol had 21 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists. Lamar Odom had 18 points and 17 rebounds. Phil Jackson earned his 1,100 career coaching victory, nobody has accomplished that feat that quickly.

The NY Knicks lost to the Boston Celtics last night (Fri Oct 29) 101-105. My Prediction was: Knicks 94, Celtics 98. Rajon Rondo had a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 24 assists. The franchise record for assists was set by Bob Cousy with 28 Assists in 1959. Paul Pierce had 25 points and 14 rebounds. Kevin Garnett had 24 points and 10 rebounds. Amare Stoudemire had 27 points and eight rebounds. Wilson Chandler had 19 points, 6 rebounds, and four blocks playing from off the bench.

The Sacramento Kings lost to the NJ Nets last night (Fri Oct 29) 100-106. My Prediction was: Kings 88, Nets 92. Brooke Lopez had 29 points. Devon Harris had 21 points and 10 assists.
