Grand Master Flash and DJ Enuff at 2010 Heineken Green Synergy Finals
Jamaica is in for a treat today. Oct. 29 marks the grand finals of the 2010 Heineken Green Synergy competition. It’s happening at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston.
Grand Master Flash, one of the pioneers of Hip-Hop, will perform for the first time in Jamaica, at today’s finals.
Grand Master Flash said, “I am happy to be performing in Jamaica and I thank Heineken for hosting this competition. For a science that I created over three decades ago and now its being taken to another level, I feel wonderful, it’s great!”
He also said, “Djing is now a global phenomenon that allows me to travel the globe. I have been blessed to have seen many different cultures and understandings of music and the effect it has on people.”
The finals will be hosted by our Heavy Hitter DJ Enuff who is also extremely excited to hit the stage. Singer, Tami Chynn will co-host the show with Enuff.
According to the Jamaica Gleaner, “the Heineken Green Synergy competition is the premier DJ competition in the world…”
The Antigua Observer said, the Heineken Green Synergy, “has been playing an integral role in providing a platform where young aspiring DJs can showcase their talent to take the careers to the next level.
The contest has provided the past winning DJs with opportunities on an international level.
DJ 47 and DJ Jerry are the top two DJs in the finals, competing for $1 million in cash and prizes as well as an internship at FAME-FM radio station.
The admission price according to Dancehall.mobi is $500 with invitation and $1000 without… I’m wondering if the admission price and the $1 million dollars up for grabs are in Jamaican dollars or U.S. dollars.
Either way the price is well worth it. To be among legends as well as emerging DJs is an experience that everyone in attendance will appreciate.
