Mary J. Blige at RaggaMuffin in New Zealand
Mary J. Blige is going full speed to the next destination in her career.
This summer she launched her new fragrance line, My Life, on HSN, and she was featured in Elle and Allure magazines.
She followed up strongly, by introducing her new line of eyewear, Melodies. The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is definitely taking it to the next level….
Mary is now on her worldwide tour, “Music Saved My Life”, with Jazmine Sullivan, Miguel and El Debarge, and she’s getting ready to drop her tenth, again tenth, studio album (date TBA.)
Mary’s also been mixing it up a lot and giving us some new flavor with major collaborations. Of course you know Mary, Gyptian and Busta Rhymes are all on her new joint “Anything You Want” for her upcoming album, a track reminiscent of early 90’s reggae. During her tour she will hit up the United Kingdom, where Gyptian will join her on stage.
It seems like she’s dibbling and dabbling a lot in that reggae direction, as she is set to perform for the fourth annual RaggaMuffin Festival in New Zealand. It’s happening February 5, 2011.
This will be Mary’s first time performing at the Raggamuffin Festival.
Other artists scheduled to perform are Sean Paul, Jimmy Cliff, Maxi Priest and Bob Marley’s second youngest son, Ky-Mani Marley along with the The Original Wailers.
Many have been hitting the lands down under, Australia and New Zealand, to perform. I’ve been to Australia once myself and saw firsthand how much the people love Hip-Hop, underground, Reggae and urban music in general, so I know they’ll accept Mary with open arms, her first time at RaggaMuffin in New Zealand.
All hail the Queen, M.J.B. (Yonkers stand up!)
