Gyptian Nominated for Soul Train Award

The nominees for Best Reggae Artist have been announced for the Soul Train Awards!

The six contenders are Damien Marley, Jah Cure, Vybz Kartel, Gramps Morgan, Mr. Vegas and Gyptian.

I’d love to say Vybz Kartel or Mr. Vegas will take the award home, but when you really think about it, Gyptian has really had an outstanding year. “Hold Yuh” has been a commercial success across many different markets…

The other nominees have been doing their thing though, putting out good music as always, but my guess is that Gyptian’s got it in the bag.

He’s been collaborating with major artists, his two singles “Hold Yuh” and “Nah Let Go” are still in rotation, he just picked up a nomination for best reggae artist at the 2010 MOBO Awards, happening in Liverpool, England tonight, and he’ll be joining Mary J. Blige on her UK tour November 2-3rd in England.

Gyptian is even performing Live at the Soul Train Awards.

It’s happening November 10th at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta and it will air on BET, Sunday, November 28th at 9pm.

Watch and see who wins the award for Best Reggae Artist.
