Damn. So as I sit behind my Mac, I get a disturbing tweet from a Homie telling me to call him. I hit him up and he’s like, “P! There’s some Mason dude on campus rocking a black and white Kane!” I’m like, “wait, what??!” I run into another Homie and he shows me a picture of him in the Academic Village with it swinging from his pocket. So you know I’m calling every Mason in the world to find out what’s good before I let Brooklyn get the best of me.

I hit up the Homie, Rock, who is Frat and a Mason, and he’s just like, “I ain’t never heard of that shit!” Still unsatisfied, I hit up the Homie, Yo4Real who said the same thing. I respect the Masons and what they stand for but I’ve never seen this. My grandfather is a Mason and he’s pretty deep in it. I’ve never, EVER seen him carry a Kane, much less take the time out to wrap it in black and white.

So here’s my beef. If the Kane is part of Masonry, why does he seem to be the ONLY Mason in the world with it? Meanwhile, three months ago, he was showing admiration of Kappa, asking what he’s gotta do “to be down.” I’m like dog, “I can’t take your demo. I don’t have any pockets, man…” So I guess son figured he’d make his own rights to the Kane. Like I said, I don’t know the Mason affiliation with the kane but I can tell you this: “YOU SHOULD NOT WEAR THE KANE IF YOU DON’T KNOW HOW IT FEELS!” Feel me?

To all the real [Masons] out there, please clarify for a Brother because this truly bothers me. I’ve got older Frat who have been Masons/Nupes for years and I’ve never seen any of this. From Philly Greek to StepCorrect to ATL Greek to Howard Homecoming, I’ve NEVER seen this. Someone needs to speak on it.

Omega Psi Phi fraternity, was the first national African-American fraternity to be founded at a historically black college when it was established on November 17, 1911, at Howard University. Howard University did not initially recognize the fraternity as a national organization and Omega Psi Phi’s leadership refused to only accept local recognition for the organization. So, the fraternity operated without official sanction, until the university withdrew its opposition in 1914, the same year that the Beta chapter was founded at Lincoln University. Omega Psi Phi was incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia in October 1914. By 1920, the fraternity had 10 chapters. Omega Psi Phi will celebrate its centennial in November 2011 in Washington D.C. Here are some of there Famous member.
